UNC Health Blue Ridge has announced that Morganton Internal Medicine’s David Abernathy, MD, and Michael Stutesman, MD, have joined the Blue Ridge Medical Group.
“We’re honored to have such well-respected physicians and their staff join our family,” said Drew Thomas, Vice President of the Medical Group and Chief Ambulatory Officer.
“Dr. Abernathy has served this community for 40 years and Dr. Stutesman for more than 30. Their commitment to their patients is legendary, and we welcome their experience.”
Dr. Abernathy has lived in the Morganton area since 1982. He is a graduate of Duke University Medical School and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is a member of the American College of Physicians, North Carolina Medical Society, and Burke County Medical Society. He joined Morganton Internal Medicine in 1983. He is married with two daughters.
Dr. Stutesman has lived in the Morganton area since 1984. He is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and did his residency in internal medicine at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined Morganton Internal Medicine in 1990. He is married with two sons.
Morganton Internal Medicine, located at 607 East Parker Road, was started in 1982.
