  • Valdese: A unique scavenger hunt for kids will feature 250 small American flags hidden on Main Street. Kids who find a flag can claim a prize from the Farris Insurance Agency.

  • Burke County Fairgrounds: Opening at 4 p.m. on July 4, the fairgrounds will host a family-oriented celebration with a bluegrass band, food, and a bouncy house. The venue offers an ideal spot to view Morganton's fireworks display.

  • Morganton: The city will present a fireworks show around 9:45 p.m. at Freedom Park. Viewing spots include Independence Boulevard, and the parking lots of Food Lion and Tractor Supply. Public Safety officers will manage crowd and traffic control.
