The City of Morganton will be ground zero for two days of excitement, fun, and food, as thousands of people hit the streets for the 2024 Morganton Festival. The annual street fair will begin at noon on Friday, Sept. 6, and will continue all day on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Festival-goers will find no shortage of activities for all ages. Youngsters will want to visit the Kids Zone, where they will find rides and games, a free craft area, and inflatables for children 4 and younger.
Teenagers will have their own space at the festival. The Teen Zone will feature climbing activities, a wild west mechanical bull, and a pedestal joust. A full slate of entertainers will enliven the youth zones with music and dance throughout the festival.
While there will be plenty of activities for the younger set, adults will have ample opportunity for their own fun. More than 300 vendors, offering a diverse offering of crafts, food, and entertainment, have signed up for the festival. Stilt-walkers, magicians, and face painting will provide entertainment throughout both days.
The popular Festival Fare vendors’ area will offer a mouth-watering assortment of food choices. Gyros, egg rolls, ice cream, barbeque and fresh-squeezed lemonade will be available, as well as those popular festival staples, funnel cakes and chicken on a stick.
The Main Stage on the Historic Courthouse Square will come alive each evening with two free concerts each night. Rising country star Drake Milligan, a fan favorite on Season 17 of “America’s Got Talent,” will perform Friday evening, and Saturday night’s finale will feature Boy Band Review, a unique throwback experience that is sure to excite fans of '80s and '90s music.
The Morganton Festival will take place from noon to 11 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to the festival and to all concerts is free.
